22A: Elevator Pitch

Image
https://youtu.be/wn0IfcVlAfU 2. The feedback I received on the last elevator pitch submission was positive, and people enjoyed the copy I wrote for the pitch. I only received one constructive piece of criticism, and that was to move around more and gesture more with my hands. 3. Really, the only thing I changed this time was to gesture more with my hands and move around more.

21A: Reading Reflection 2

The book I chose for the second reading reflection was Scott Adam's  How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life .  1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The general theme and the lesson Adams tries to convey to the reader is that one's failures usually lead a person to their biggest successes. I really enjoyed a quote in it, where he says, "Everything that you want out of life is in [a] big vat of failure. The trick is to get the good stuff out." Adams takes the reader through his many, many failures throughout his life, and shows that every experience he had later led him to his success as a comic illustrator. 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? For me, the biggest lesson in the book that resonated with me and connected with the Entrepreneurship course was his opinion that people should set systems, not goals, in order to achieve things. For

20A: Social Capital

a. Nicole Weltman, VP of Digital Marketing at TIDAL. Nicole graduated from UF with a BS in Advertising. I am putting her in the "Domain Expert" section, for her experience in the subscription service industry. TIDAL is a music streaming subscription service, and her experience helped me understand the book subscription industry. I met Nicole at The Agency, when she came to speak earlier in the year. I got her contact information after the meeting, and emailed her. We just emailed back and forth a few times about her experience, and there was no expectation of a favor to be returned. Being able to have someone like her to get advice from is invaluable. b. John Marchetti, Marketing Manager at Pearson Books. John lives in Orlando, and I found him through LinkedIn. I'm putting him in the "Supplier" section, as he works in book publishing. I messaged him through LinkedIn, and asked about his time working for Pearson. There was no expectation of a favor to be return

19A: Idea Napkin 2

1. My name is Federico Psevoznik. I'm a third-year telecommunication student at the University of Florida. I have experience in graphic design, PR, social media, music production, and management. I aspire to work in the music industry, as an A&R, or as a manager.  Through my experience in management, social media, and marketing, I feel like I can build this idea to a point where I can sell it to Universities looking to offer the same thing to their students. 2. I am offering a book subscription service for students at the University of Florida. Students would opt in at the beginning of the semester, after Add/Drop closes, and are able to access their books digitally, all for one low price a semester. 3. For now, I am only offering it to students at the University of Florida. More specifically, it would be targeted towards students who would otherwise be unable to afford their books every semester. 4. The ability to easily opt in to a service that gives you your textbooks

17A: Elevator Pitch

https://youtu.be/E1fxbfbnkw8 (sorry, my phone broke, and I only had my laptop to film this on) 2) The only feedback I received was positive, other than that my peers asked that I make more gestures and stand up.   3)  I didn't change the script or anything, I just stood up, walked around, and gestured more. I felt more confident doing it this time around compared to the first time.

My avatar/prototypical customer is a student in college, whether it be undergrad, post graduate, or doctorate schooling. Let’s say they go to the University of Florida. This student is low-income, and is hispanic (he’s from Colombia). This student is taking four courses, all which require at least a $50 textbook from the bookstore. This student might not own a car, or own a second-hand Toyota Camry, or something of that sort. They use the Netflix account of their friend or cousin, and love The Office. Who doesn’t love The Office? This student is in their early to mid twenties. They like to play hours of video games, mostly Grand Theft Auto. I, like the prototypical customer, am hispanic, and am taking courses that require expensive books. I also own a second-hand car, a Mazda 3. I do not think it is a coincidence that the prototypical customer and I are similar, because my experiences led me to coming up with the idea for the product.
